    Cognizant GenC Next Interview Experience 2025

    The Cognizant GenC Next recruitment process is designed to evaluate a candidate’s communication skills, aptitude, technical expertise, and overall suitability for the role through multiple stages. Below is a detailed breakdown of the process based on experiences shared by recent candidates.

    Note: Cognizant GenC and GenC Next have the same recruitment process. Roles are offered based on performance in the interview.

    Round 1: Communication Assessment

    The Communication Round in the Cognizant GenC Next recruitment process evaluates a candidate's English proficiency through tasks such as reading sentences, repeating sentences, arranging jumbled sentences, answering questions, and storytelling. This round focuses on assessing sentence mastery, fluency, vocabulary, and pronunciation to ensure candidates possess strong communication skills

    Round 2: Aptitude Assessment

    The Cognizant GenC Next Aptitude Assessment evaluates candidates' problem-solving and cognitive skills across three primary sections: Numerical Ability, Verbal Reasoning, and Logical Reasoning. Each section is designed to assess specific abilities crucial for analytical thinking and decision-making.

    Numerical Ability

    This section focuses on evaluating mathematical and quantitative reasoning. Candidates encounter questions on topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, probability, and data interpretation. These questions test the ability to solve numerical problems effectively and accurately.

    Numerical Ability Sample Questions:

    1. P, Q, and R can build a wall in 15, 45, and 90 days respectively. If P is assisted by Q and R on every fifth day, how long will it take for P to complete the wall?

    2. Find the remainder when (60!)^30 is divided by 17.

    3. A principal amount of money accumulates Rs. 5,625 as simple interest in 5 years at an annual interest rate of 7.5%. What is the sum of the money?

    Verbal Ability

    This section assesses candidates' comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and verbal logic skills. Questions include sentence corrections, reading comprehension, synonyms, antonyms, and completing sentences logically.

    1. Identify the part of the sentence with an error:

    The committee has decided / to not only increase the fees / but also to reduce / the number of scholarships.

    2 . Which part of the sentence given below has an error in it?

    Reasoning Ability

    This segment tests the candidate's ability to analyze patterns, solve puzzles, and apply logical thinking to complex scenarios. Questions include series completion, syllogisms, and coding-decoding.

    1. If 'BRIGHT' is coded as 624853 and 'SUNNY' = 09114, then 'NIGHT' can be coded as

    Round 3: Technical Assessment

    This round evaluates programming and technical skills based on the cluster chosen during registration:

    The Cognizant GenC Next Technical Assessment allows candidates to choose between two skill clusters based on their preference, with the final allocation determined by Cognizant. Cluster 1 focuses on Java, ANSI SQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and candidates are given 120 minutes to complete the assessment. Cluster 2 emphasizes ANSI SQL, Python, and Cloud Fundamentals, with a total duration of 105 minutes. This structure ensures that candidates are evaluated on their core technical competencies and problem-solving abilities in their chosen domain.

    1. Write a program to add the largest row sum and largest column sum of a given matrix.

    2. Find the total number of derangements for a set of size n.

    Round 4: Interview

    The interview panel assesses both technical and HR aspects:

    Technical Interview:

    Focuses on evaluating coding skills, problem-solving, and technical knowledge:

    • OOP Concepts.

    • Multithreading.

    • Exception Handling.

    • Academic Projects.

    • Code snippet explanations.

    HR Interview:

    Covers interpersonal skills and cultural alignment:

    • Career Goals.

    • Strengths and Weaknesses.

    • Fit with Cognizant’s Culture.
